S\u00e9bastien ERARD<\/strong> (1752-1831) est consid\u00e9r\u00e9, \u00e0 juste titre, comme le p\u00e8re de la harpe moderne. Ses deux contributions majeures \u00e0 la construction de l\u2019instrument sont \u00e0 la base de la harpe de concert d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui : d\u2019une part, le m\u00e9canisme des disques \u00e0 fourchettes qui raccourcit les cordes d\u2019un demi-ton ; d\u2019autre part, le double mouvement qui permet \u00e0 l\u2019instrumentiste de jouer dans toutes les tonalit\u00e9s. L\u2019h\u00e9g\u00e9monie de la maison Erard est la cons\u00e9quence non seulement de l\u2019incontestable sup\u00e9riorit\u00e9 musicale et technique de ces inventions mais aussi de son ambition de commercialiser ses instruments partout dans le monde. A travers les archives commerciales et familiales, ainsi que de nombreux instruments rares, ce livre raconte l\u2019histoire passionnante de cet empire Erard.<\/p>\n
