Irish immigration to Brittany is a significant historical event that has nevertheless been forgotten. Tens of thousands of Irish people emigrated to Brittany during the 17th and 18th centuries, fleeing persecution by the English. For Véronique Bourjot and Brewen Favreau, this past naturally resonated with them, given their musical backgrounds rooted in these two aesthetics. This led them to propose a reinterpretation of these events, with music and the points of convergence between these two musical styles as the common thread. The project focuses on Breton/Irish songs and tunes, imagining the blend that must have resulted from the encounter between these two distinct cultures, which became permeable to each other.
