Description
Baroque culture and Claude Debussy: meet the Trio Antara!
The ‘Concert pour Debussy’ project is the fruit of several years’ collaboration between the Trio Antara (Emmanuelle Ophèle on flute, Audile Auboin on viola, Ghislaine Petit-Volta on harp) and composer Benoît Sitzia. This recording highlights an in-depth study of Debussy’s Sonata for flute, viola and harp. It also explores the deeper meaning of the unfinished cycle of Six Sonates pour divers instruments, written between 1915 and 1917. The Sonata for flute, viola and harp, a veritable laboratory for Debussy’s thought and poetics, has contributed to the reputation of this chamber ensemble. The project revolves around the idea of the baroque ‘concert’, with its named and imaginary tributes, echoing the poetic visions of Debussy and his contemporaries.
